The truth is, online reviews only tell part of the story.
Every Traveler Has Different Priorities
The same resort can earn both a five-star review and a one-star review from guests who stayed the very same week.
Why?
Because they were looking for different experiences.
One guest may love:
A lively pool with music and activities
Plenty of family-friendly entertainment
A large resort with endless dining options
Another guest may be looking for:
Quiet beaches
A smaller boutique atmosphere
Personalized service
Neither review is wrong. They're just based on different expectations.
Reviews Don't Tell You If It's Right for You
When I research a resort, I look beyond the overall rating.
I consider questions like:
Is the beach swimmable?
Is the resort a good fit for families, couples, or groups?
Are the rooms updated?
Is the walk from the room to the beach reasonable?
Is the food consistently good?
What do repeat guests say?
Those details matter far more than whether someone gave the resort three or five stars.
One Bad Experience Doesn't Define a Resort
People are much more likely to leave a review after a disappointing experience than after an average or great one.
That doesn't mean the concerns should be ignored, but it does mean it's important to look for patterns instead of focusing on a single negative review.
